The boundaries are: North: 30th Street; South: Massachusetts Avenue; East: Sherman Drive; West: Monon Trail

    NEW: Occupational Training Services

    EMCC is now offering new certificate and occupational training classes. See our offerings below.


    A 10 week class focusing on entry level welding skills in the following processes:  Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) aka “Stick” welding with certification up to 3G (open V-groove welding);  Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) aka “MIG” with certification up to 3G and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) aka “Flux” with certification up to 3F.  Additionally, students will become proficient with use of all required hand tools, oxy-acetylene cutting, beveling and prepping all metal as directed by a Welding Procedure Specification or WPS.  Students will receive didactic education related to all three processes and reading blue prints.  Students successfully passing each process with an 80% are eligible to submit for the American Welding Society certification at the highest level passable in each process.  All instructors, lesson plans and testing is directed by the program chair, Bennie Flynn, AWS, CWI and 2011 AWS Image of Welding Winner &  2012-14 Indiana Section Past Chairman.

    Logistics Associate

    2 ½ week class focused on the development of an entry level warehouse and/or logistics employee.  Students will learn to operate three classes of forklifts safely (stand up, reach and sit down) as well as receive their OSHA 10 Hour certification in General Industry.  Students are eligible to sit for the MSSC-Certified Logistics Associate Certification and also receive certification in LockOut/Tagout and Bloodborne pathogens.  After successful completion of this course, students are offered job development assistance including resume creation, mock interviews and specific job leads to assist in finding entry level employment.
