Volunteer

There are a number of ways that you can use your time and talents at the Center. Please download the Program and Volunteer Guide for a full list or choose from one of the opportunities below. EMCC_2009Program.pdf

  • Volunteer as a receptionist
  • You can help us out as a receptionist in the late afternoons, one day a week or a few days a month.
  • Volunteer would:
  • Answer the phone
  • Greet visitors
  • Perform light clerical work
  • Volunteers will work with the Executive Director
  • We need volunteers who are free at these times:
  • 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm weekdays.

Volunteer with After-School Program

We provide a variety of activities for elementary-aged children. We feel that it is important that our time with our children be not just fun activities, but activities that will contribute to their growth and improve their life chances. The After-School Program volunteer will work with eager and energetic children to accomplish this.

  • Volunteer would:
  • Assist with homework
  • Reading skills
  • Other school work
  • Instruct in the use of computers as a learning tool
  • Provide musical activities (lead singing, teach use of instruments, etc.)
  • Volunteers will work with Children 6-12 years
  • We need volunteers who are free at these times:
    3:30 pm – 5:30 pm weekdays, early September through late May

  • Work Groups:

    Work groups can come and work in the building and grounds or assist with the summer youth program.

  • Volunteers would:
    Work on the grounds, raking leaves, cutting grass, picking up trash, etc. Volunteers could also work in the building when there are maintenance or improvement projects.
  • Volunteers with childcare experience could:
    Assist with summer program, presenting programs for the children or engaging with the children’s activities.
  • Volunteers will work with Children ages 6-12 years

    We need volunteers who are free at these times:
    Summer program: 7:00 – 4:00, Monday through Friday, June and July
    Building and grounds: any time, please schedule

  • Provide a Safe Summer for Kids

  • We provide a full day of activities for elementary-aged children in the summer (June – July). We need volunteers to chaperone field trips and assist with workshops.
  • Volunteers would:

    Assist in classrooms.

  • Volunteers will work with Children ages 5-14 years
  • We need volunteers who are free at these times:
    8:00 – 3:00, Monday-Friday, June and July
    Volunteers must be 18 years or older and will be required to have a background check
